About

Hello, my name is Marisa.

Welcome to my blog! A blog about, not only my desire to be creative, successful and whatever, but about re-invention, next steps and all that comes with that. I would love to have a chance to meet as many people out there as possible that are experiencing some of the things I am, working toward similar goals and dreaming big. (Note: Try not to judge my lack of punctuation knowledge, poor grammar etc., I will never claim to be a writer… I just have a some things to say.)

A little about me.

I currently live in Hot Springs, Arkansas with my two lovely little munchkins, Lyric and Blyss (hence the name of my blog/shop). They are the world to me. Like every other mother, I spend the majority of my time trying to prove to myself I can do this parenting thing. Fight the balancing act of ‘me’ and ‘them.’ And, keep a world of chaos at least semi- in order.

I graduated with a degree in Digital Art and Design and after eating and breathing advertising for the last ten years, (most recently for a world-wide conglomerate) the economy (and/or delightful executive decision-making) got the best of me and my whole world turned from ‘decisive and straightforward’ to ‘what in the world am I going to do next.’

What is LyBly?

In my job-hunting period, I had A LOT of time, and I made A LOT of things. Thus was born my little ole’ Etsy shop where I can do something that makes me happy, takes the pressure off the need to please other people and puts it more in the ‘what pleases me’ category. Not only have I truly enjoyed venturing into these new territories, but it has opened other new doors or opportunity – and – made me more comfortable with change.

What’s next?

It’s still scary. All of it. But, it is what it is. And, I thought now was the time to start compiling this journey for myself and for others who might be fighting their way through the same ‘whatever it is.’

I know what I’m good at; branding, visual communication, business; dreaming, aspiring, seeing the best in others. …And, I try very hard not to think about all of the things I’m bad at, and forgive myself for those things. ;)
